Authors of the 20th Century
Directly after the end of the Second World War people began to deem that the world’s basic principles are simple and justifiable . Both world politics and social relations were counting on the concepts of development, beneficial change , trust in the logical , awareness , technical innovations , and the ability to substantiate any happening from a rational standpoint . However , starting from the second half of the 60’s, the world began to deteriorate and now , 40 years later , we find ourselves in a transformed type of existence .
We without any problems note those advancements which are brought to us by new technology, but we infrequently are aware of the fact that there are some ideas which the author has put behind those solutions . The nature of the expected adjustment was first tracked by those people, who as a rule of thumb lived anteceding their time – writers and authors. Among the many authors whose masterpieces have served for amusement , there have been a few who have given the humankind a new vision . They have more effectively than others other people shaped and formulated authentic suggestions and have ultimately created formed a brand new intelligent and emotional grounding of the future. They have noticed challenges in the mundane of our lives and have opened a set of problems, which were dragging on without being noted . They have aided us to think of the new problems , and gave us new aspirations .
These were the authors who have formed the thoughts of the entire generation, which has live through the times of cardial change; change, which was seen as mayhem at the beginning of the 21 first century. They have turned our attention to the most burning problems of the last epoch ; those dilemmas , which the people , having lived through the world wars and unseen number of deaths, was unwilling to face . Finally they were raising the most important issue “How will we live in the world of future?”
In this paper we will mention several of the most famous writers of the last century. They have all much influenced literature of their period, have offered tendencies and problems which were relevant to their countries and the period of time they existed in, and have made the readers meditate on the actual philosophy of values, having them understand that it is far away from being ideal. One of the most important aspects of their writing is that in most cases they have evoked the people attention in books and written works. in this case one of the most interesting success works is that of a well known writer Lewis Carroll .
The success of Joan Rowling can be called unique as she has become the first author in the world to earn $1 billion by publishing fairytales. She is now spending a great part of her money on charity, fighting poverty and illness. The plot of the book was created while she was on the train from Manchester to London. When the publisher has first agreed to print her book, she has awarded her 1500 pounds together with a friendly advice — to find a stable job. He was incredulous of the idea that the young author would be able to make money of writing books. Joann has showed the opposite - having written a series of amazing fairytales, she has made the so-called non-reading people get back to reading.
This article is not able to enumerate and more or less accurately list all writers who have given their contribution to the today’s literature. They have been writing and presenting ideas directly into the thoughts of the people, and thus were shaping the future. therefore, as we can see, these writers were not creating for relaxation only, but they were also playing a significant part in shaping the culture and the views of a society of the 20th century.
